Ruitersvlei is situated in one of the oldest wine farming areas in the Western Cape, on the outskirts of Paarl.The historical stables on the farm were converted into comfortable and tasteful rooms. There are 12 rooms with modern and tastefully appointed travertine en-suite bathrooms. Each room features a bar fridge, Wi-Fi Internet access, a fan, and tea and coffee facilities.

Ruitersvlei is situated in one of the oldest wine farming areas in the Western Cape. The first record of the farm appeared in 1688. The farm was originally called Ruigtervallei. It measured 57 morgen, and was granted to a Mr Guillame Frisnet. It was reorganised by a Dutch naval officer and his wife in 1789.
The farm is located in the midst of some of the most recognised wine farms in the Paarl area. Surrounding and neighbouring farms include Spice Route, Fairview, Laborie, Rhebokskloof, and Landskroon Wine Estate.
