Hotel Description
Taaiboschfontein Guest Lodge, is a working Karoo sheep farm, in the Three Sister region, a welcome oasis for the overnight visitor. We are ideally situated halfway between Bloemfontein and Cape Town, 14 km off the N1 at the foot of the Nuweveld mountains.Your host Tiaan will make you feel at home away from home. A safe overnight stay in an area with the most beautiful Karoo nature.
Apart from its sheep farming activities the farm is included in the Kromriver Riverine Rabbit Consevancy in a beautiful part of the Karoo with a rich animal and bird life.We also have a growing aloe and tree nursery.
Taaiboschfontein Guest Lodge has a rich history belonging to the Scottish, Devenish family from 1890 until 1945 and then the Middelton Family until 1995. Guests are welcome to go for a mountain drive, climb a mountain or just sit and watch the stars.
SELF CATERING ACCOMMODATION
We only have self-catering units available. We however do offer braaipacks, braaibroodjies and salads as a supper option, which can be arranged upon arrival.
Guests in Rooms 1-7 have access to a big communal kitchen in the main house. Unit 8, The Chalet and the Hunters� Hut each has a fully equipped kitchen.
*Please note that our rates include breakfast. Guests do however have the option of not having breakfast and thus not paying for it.
We offer 5 en-suite rooms in the main guest house, of which each sleep between 2 and 4 people. Just outside of the main house, we have 2 en-suite rooms available, both of which sleeps two people. We also have a private unit available close to the main house, which sleeps 6. This unit is ideal for a large family. Please refer to Rooms and Rates for further details.
Our chalet is fully equipped with a gas operated kitchen, electrical lighting and hot water, but no electrical plugs.
We also have a large family unit available with two bedrooms, double bed and 2 single beds both en-suite bathrooms, dining room. This unit also has a braai area inside and outside.
The Hunters' Hut is also available It provides a real Karoo-experience with no electricity, oil lamps, a gas operated kitchen, and hot water.
