Following a successful career in Agriculture Business and Animal Health where I was privileged to work and travel to many parts of the world together with my family, my wife Elzabé and I have now decided to undertake the next part of life’s journey and set up Thorn Tree Bush Camp. “This being a life long dream.”Thorn Tree Bush Camp is situated within the Dinokeng Big Five Game Reserve. We have the true nature lover in mind when having you as our guest, to come and experience the amazing African Bushveld and its beautiful animals, sunrises, sunsets and nature.
Our tented bush camps and tents is set up is such a way that you can enjoy the tranquillity of nature, where the stars are brighter at night. Here where lion roars, jackal bark, bush babies cry, owls screeches, insects sing and so much more that can be heard at night, while you sit outside next to your fire or lay down to rest. At Thorn Tree Bush Camp you get away from the hustle and bustle of busy city life, enjoy a true South African ‘braai’ under the stars with the sounds of the wild and nature surrounding you, with accommodation in one of our tented bush camps. Take a game drive to view the BIG 5. Come and experience South Africa’s beautiful sunrises and sunsets that colour the skies above with a pallet of brilliant colours.
We have given special attention to detail and comfort, when setting up our unique Bush Tented Camps, each with its own style and setting. All the camps and tents are set-up to offer an exclusive setting, catering for various group sizes. The Fever Tree (Koorsboom) Tent for 2 adults and 2 children, or the Wag-‘n-Bietjie (Buffalo) Tented Camp suitable for up to 8 people, the Karee suitable for up to 8, Umbrella Thorn (Haak-en-Steek) Family Tent caters for a family of 2 adults and up to 4 children, etc. Each camp and/or tent is fully equipped with everything you require for an awesome time in the bush. Each camp setting, offers your own private fire pit (small boma), where you can watch the stars, and listen to the sounds of nature.
For bigger groups book the full Thorn Tree Bush Camp exclusively for your use, just make sure you do it in time to ensure that all of the accommodation are available.
