FAQs for Booking with My Travelution
Horse and Mill Old English Pub and Restaurant. In the Northern Cape, one could find a horse mill on almost every farm. Karoo farmers, who often had a lack of water or wind, constructed a simple horse mill in their barns. Then the draft animals on the farm were put to work grinding their grains.
Once a working horse mill of the farm, Sewefontein in the Colesberg district, the mill has been recreated in the old coach house by Mr. T Vorster. A large upright wooden axle was placed in the center of the room with a large wooden wheel about 3.5 to 4 meters in diameter; in the newer models, a cogged wheel was affixed to the top section.
